This Privacy Policy explains how Selby Studio LLC ("Selby Studio," "we," "us," or "our"), a California limited liability company based in Santa Monica, California, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, products, and services.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Purchase and billing information. When you buy one of our products or subscriptions, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, billing country, and transaction details. We never see or store your full card number.
• Account and profile information. Some products (for example, PupMate) offer accounts, listings, applications, and messaging. We collect the information you submit to use those features.
• Fulfillment details. Some products ask for details needed to deliver what you bought — for example, a GitHub username at Encore checkout (to grant access to updates), or personalization details for an Everbound storybook.
• Communications. If you email us (contact@selby.studio or a brand support address), we keep the correspondence.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data. Our websites are hosted on Vercel and may log standard technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps — for security, performance, and basic analytics.
• Cookies. We use only the cookies necessary for our sites and checkout flows to function (including cookies set by Stripe during payment). We do not run advertising trackers.

2. How we use information

• To provide, deliver, and support the products you purchase;
• To process payments, subscriptions, refunds, and receipts through Stripe;
• To operate product features you use (listings, matching, messaging, personalization, software updates);
• To respond to your questions and provide customer support;
• To secure, maintain, and improve our websites and products;
• To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

3. How we share information

We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:

• Stripe — payment processing, billing, and sales-tax handling (Stripe's privacy policy);
• Vercel — website hosting and serverless infrastructure;
• GitHub — software delivery for products with code-based fulfillment;
• Email and productivity providers — to receive and respond to your messages;
• Authorities or advisors — where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Children's privacy

Our products are sold to adults. Everbound creates personalized storybooks for children, and any details used to personalize a book (such as a child's first name or likeness) are provided to us by the purchasing parent or guardian, used solely to create the ordered book, and never used for marketing or profiling. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

5. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: transaction records for as long as tax and accounting law requires; account and listing data while your account is active; support correspondence for a reasonable period. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the UK/EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@selby.studio — we honor these requests regardless of where you live. We will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and information is processed in the U.S. and in the countries where our service providers operate. Where required, our providers rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. Security

We use reputable, security-audited providers (Stripe, Vercel, GitHub), encrypt data in transit, and limit access to personal information to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we hold to a minimum by design.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of our products after a change means you accept the updated policy.
